NATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT COMES TO CLARKSVILLE

(CLARKSVILLE, TENN.)

The American Fastpitch Association will host its National Softball Championships in Clarksville this year. Teams will come in from across the United States to compete in 10U, 12U and 14U Division I tournaments. The games will take place July 19 - 24.

More than 60 teams will head to Clarksville to participate in the Division I tournaments. The following week, July 26-30, another round of teams will arrive to compete in the 16U and 18U tournaments.

"The economic impact from this tournament will be huge," said Jay Patel, chairman of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.  "We estimate over $1 million in revenue."

The teams will play at Heritage Park off Peachers Mill Road. The weeklong events will include a special opening ceremony as well as fun activities for the players at night. All games are open to the public.
